CRITICAL VULNERABILITIES & EXPOSURES

Real-world risks this policy is engineered to solve.

Commercial and personal risks rarely follow idealized assumptions. These are the critical financial pitfalls, claim traps, and operational vulnerabilities that proper policy structuring actively mitigates.

High-Impact Vulnerability01

Depreciation Deductions on Metal, Plastic & Glass Parts

A front-end or side collision requiring replacement of fiber bumpers, headlights, and painted metal panels.

Impact: Standard policies deduct up to 50% for plastic/nylon and 30% for metal, resulting in huge out-of-pocket bills.
Policy Solution: Zero Depreciation (Bumper-to-Bumper) add-on ensuring 100% reimbursement for parts and labor.
High-Impact Vulnerability02

Monsoon Water Ingestion & Engine Hydrostatic Lock

Driving through waterlogged city roads or flash puddles where water enters the air intake and bends engine rods.

Impact: Engine replacement costs ranging between ₹1 Lakh and ₹6 Lakhs—standardly excluded as 'consequential loss'.
Policy Solution: Engine & Gearbox Protection Cover providing comprehensive protection against water ingestion and hydrostatic lock.
High-Impact Vulnerability03

Total Loss / Theft & Return to Invoice (RTI) Gap

Vehicle stolen and unrecovered or damaged beyond 75% repair threshold in a catastrophic highway collision.

Impact: Standard claims settle at depreciated IDV, leaving an enormous financial gap compared to purchase price.
Policy Solution: Return to Invoice (RTI) add-on paying full original invoice value including road tax and registration charges.
UNDERSTAND YOUR OPTIONS

Protection begins with the right questions.

These are discussion points, not a promise that every risk is covered. Final cover depends on policy wording and insurer acceptance.

01

Comprehensive Car Protection

Combines mandatory third-party liability with extensive own-damage coverage against accidents, theft, fire, and natural disasters.

02

Standalone Own-Damage Cover

Protects your vehicle against accidental physical damage, fire, and theft when you already maintain an active third-party liability policy.

03

Third-Party Liability Protection

Fulfills mandatory legal liabilities under the Motor Vehicles Act, covering bodily injury, death, and property damage caused to third parties.

04

Zero Depreciation (Bumper-to-Bumper)

Eliminates standard depreciation deductions on plastic, rubber, fiber, glass, and metal parts during collision repairs.

05

Engine & Gearbox Hydrostatic Lock Protection

Shields you against steep repair bills for consequential water ingestion, flood submergence, and hydrostatic lock during monsoons.

06

24x7 Roadside Assistance & Consumables

Towing, flat tyre replacement, battery jumpstarts, emergency fuel, and coverage for oil, nuts, and bolts in repairs.

Ask our team
Is car insurance mandatory in India?

Valid third-party liability insurance is legally required for every car driven on public roads in India under the Motor Vehicles Act. Comprehensive cover is optional but strongly recommended to protect against expensive accident repairs, theft, fire, and natural disasters.

How do Comprehensive and Third-Party policies differ?

Third-party cover addresses covered legal liabilities for injury, death, or property damage to others; it does not pay for damage to your own vehicle. Comprehensive insurance combines third-party liability with own-damage protection for your car.

What is IDV and why is setting it accurately critical?

Insured Declared Value (IDV) is the agreed insured market value of your vehicle for the policy year. Understating IDV lowers premium but leaves you underinsured during total loss or theft. Overstating it increases premium without higher claim settlements.

What is a No Claim Bonus (NCB) and how do I retain it?

NCB is a progressive discount on your own-damage premium (from 20% up to 50%) earned for consecutive claim-free policy years. It belongs to the vehicle owner, not the car, and can be transferred seamlessly when replacing your vehicle.

What is the advantage of a Zero Depreciation add-on?

In standard claims, insurers deduct up to 50% depreciation on plastic and rubber parts and up to 30% on metal panels. Zero Depreciation covers 100% replacement cost of eligible parts, saving you significant out-of-pocket expenses.

Can I renew my car insurance after it has expired?

Yes, but if the policy expired more than 90 days ago, all accumulated NCB discount is forfeited. Additionally, insurers typically require a photo or video inspection before issuing fresh cover. Driving without valid mandatory cover is strictly illegal.

How does Gitvisha assist during an accident claim?
